Emma Kohonen (Principal)

Emma Kohonen (ARAD) started her dance training on the Northern Beaches at Dance North Academy when she was five years old. She completed all her RAD ballet exams, ISTD modern and tap exams and performed in Sydney Festival Ballet company for many years.

After studying full time dance at Manly Dance Arts Centre she successfully auditioned for the Moulin Rouge at the young age of 17yrs. Emma worked for Dance Encore Productions for many years dancing in Japan as a showgirl, as well as performing in the Sydney Olympics in 2000.

After settling back in Sydney, Emma began working at Northbridge Dance Studios in 2001, and got her Royal Academy of Dance Teaching qualifications. Emma has also completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at Charles Sturt University. 

Emma recently took over as principal at NDS in 2018 and is looking forward to bringing fresh ideas to the studio.

Helen Taylor

Helen Taylor (ARAD) trained in London at Arts Educational School after which she became a soloist in Switzerland with the Basel and Luzern ballet companies.

Following this she moved on to become Artistic Director of Bangkok Dance Centre. 

After moving to Australia she freelanced as a teacher and choreographer before becoming the Principal of Northbridge Dance Studios for the past 25 yrs.

Currently she is teaching and choreographing at NDS.

Carly Rosser

Carly grew up in Orange, NSW and trained at Colour City Danceworks, which has a high standard of RAD ballet and jazz training. From the age of 3, Carly has competed in eisteddfods and performed in community events in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical and musical theatre.

In 2008 Carly moved to Sydney attending Brent Street Studios, studying full-time in dance where she obtained her Certificate IV in Performing Arts studying under and working with names such as Cameron Mitchell, Jacqui Howard, Kelly Abbey, Matt Lee and Marko Panzic.

Carly then went on to obtain her Bachelor of Dance Education at the University of NSW, which qualifies her to teach curricular dance in both primary and secondary schools with a strong focus on contemporary dance. She furthered her education in contemporary dance by completing her Honours in Dance Studies in 2014. Throughout her time at UNSW, Carly worked with contemporary dance artists such as Sue Healey, Lisa Griffiths, Nalina Wait, Craig Barry, and Jane McKernan.

Carly aims to bring a fun and challenging atmosphere to each class and to share her passion for all dance styles.

Leia Hajduczok

Leia started her classical ballet training at age 5 with Beverly Waters in Adelaide, South Australia. She completed her RAD Advanced 2 under the tuition and guidance of Christine Underdown and Natanya Andonas.

While in South Australia Leia performed as an artist of the SACB Company for a number of years, dancing Principal roles in her final 4 years with the company. Her performance highlights include Victoria Page in The Red Shoes, and Princess Jasmine in the company production of Aladdin.

In 2012 Leia graduated from The Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts [WAAPA] with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance, and a focus on Dance Teaching. During her time at WAAPA, Leia was fortunate to work with a number of renowned teachers and choreographers including Kim Mccarthy, Gabrielle Nankivell, Melanie Lane and Justin Rutzou, and was accepted for a placement with Australian Dance Theatre.

Leia has taught for a number of schools around Australia, and has been with Northbridge Dance Studios since 2016. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and love of dance, and strives to instil a strong technical understanding as well as artistic expression in her students.

In 2019 Leia will be commencing her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance to continue her professional development.

Georgia Punchard

Georgia Punchard started dancing at a very young age and has developed a strong passion for performing and teaching over the years. She is trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and specialises in JFH.

Georgia moved from her hometown, Cairns to Sydney to study and achieve her Diploma in Performing Arts at ED5 International. After graduating she signed with the renowned agency Jeep Management and has worked amongst the biggest names in the Sydney dance scene.

Her credits include The Squared Division, Guy Sebastian, The XFactor, The Voice, Dance Boss, Samantha Jade, The Boy From OZ (Musical), Long Way to the Top Australian Tour, Spiegel’esue, Sneaky Sound System, Debora Cox, PACHA Sydney, The Thunderettes, Sam Powers Illusionist, Marcia Hines and Russell Crowe. She finds time for the small screen and has featured in TVC’s for Bonds, The Bachelor, Powerball, Kmart, U by Kotex, Hungry Jacks and Ministry of Sound. Georgia has also performed overseas with contracts in Macau, Hong Kong and Paris. Her contract at Hong Kong Disneyland furthered her training as she learnt a variety of aerialist skills and performed in challenging shows. She strives to push herself as a performer, choreographer and teacher.  

Georgia loves sharing her knowledge with the amazing students of Northbridge Dance Studios.

Madeleine Russell

Madeleine grew up in Adelaide, SA, training at Terry Simpson Studios where she completed all RAD Ballet Exams including Advanced 2 with Distinction. She has been dancing since age 2 not only in ballet but Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Lyrical, Modern and Musical Theatre. Madeleine has also been singing and acting from a young age.

After finishing yr 12, Madeleine moved to Sydney to perform at the Sydney Opera House with Opera Australia. That year she completed a Diploma of Musical Theatre at Brent Street Studios. Madeleine has recently graduated from a Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre) from Federation University where she trained intensively in singing, acting and dancing full-time for 3 years.

Madeleine is an energetic and enthusiastic performer with a love and passion for the performing arts.
